Everyone’s Favorite Holiday Movie Comes to Life in a New Fine Art Limited Edition! All Ralphie wants for Christmas is a Red Ryder 200-shot carbine-action model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time. But every adult he confronts keeps telling him “You’ll shoot your eye out!” From snowsuit paralysis to the triple-dog-dare of the tongue-on-a-frozen-flagpole to the Old Man’s “Major Award” burning bright in the front window, humorist Jean Shepherd’s tale of Christmas with the family has become a modern classic. Artist Paul Landry captured the magic of Bedford Falls in It’s a Wonderful Christmas, and he has done the same with everyone’s other holiday favorite, A Christmas Story. Accompanied by a printed remarque featuring the kids of A Christmas Story.
With all the eagerness of kids waiting up to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus, Landry collectors look forward to the release of Paul’s annual Christmas piece. Always drawing on warm memories of his boyhood in Nova Scotia, Paul creates classic holiday scenes of timeless joy. This year’s image, A Christmas Wish, offers a special personal touch as well...the toy maker’s name on the shop sign is derived from Joseph, Thomas and Hope, the names of Paul and Mary Landry’s three children. Published from the artist’s original oil wash painting.

“It’s... it’s... it’s indescribably beautiful! It reminds me of the Fourth of July!” – The Old Man admiring his "major award" Last year, artist Paul Landry paid tribute to one of his favorite films, the holiday classic, A Christmas Story. Inspired by humorist Jean Shepherd’s tale of the holidays in smalltown America, Landry brought to life the magic that has made this film a favorite with fans of all ages. This year, we move in for a close-up of the Parkers’ home on Cleveland Street, focusing on the Old Man’s “Major Award”—a garish lamp in the shape of a woman’s leg.
_A walk in the park provides a feast for the eyes
any day of the year. Every season offers us its own theme and, like each
of them, this one speaks for itself. Summertime has so much to offer.
Lush flowers - bright and bold or soft and delicate - are everywhere.
It's always a pleasurable challenge to paint a bountiful and beautiful
variety of shapes and textures.
The sturdy old bridge spans the clear, peaceful water, which is
bordered by mutil-colored calla lilies. The lily pads have such charm,
especially when hightlighted by the sunshine. Stretching their arms, the
tall and handsome trees create interesting patterns across the park and
water.
Not too far along the pathway from the bridge is a bench for
relaxing, listening to nature's conversation and perhaps enjoying a
visit with a friend.
Artist Paul Landry is known for his images of colorful gardens and scenes of maritime life. In his latest fine art limited edition, A Sailor's Garden, Landry combines both of these worlds to create both a beautiful composition and a collector's dream come true. Radiant with hues and warm with nostalgic ambiance, Landry's images tenderly wed flowers with our own universal fond memories. His own love of gardening is his inspiration. Of A Sailor's Garden, Landry says "Even though the sailor may be at sea for months at a time and enjoy it immensely, he also loves the time spent in his garden caring for the earth. Both sea and land calling his heart and hand. But, I wonder, if he had to make a choice, would he agree that there is no place like home? And is there truly any other place like your own garden?"

Paul reminisces, "For generations, schooners have harvested the rich fishing banks off Nova Scotia. They could be out for weeks at a time, fishing ’til their vessels could hold no more, before racing back home knowing first in brought the best price. In the 1930s and ’40s, my Uncle Joe and his sons sailed these crafts and told me many a sea story. This painting honors them and all seamen who sailed these magnificent schooners." Published from the artist’s original watercolor painting.
There's nothing like stumbling upon a great old, Yankee antique barn. Well, congratulations, you just found one! First to greet you is the family puppy. You are invited to relive your childhood dreams via the beautiful carousel pony, or marvel at the patterns of Aunt Martha's quilts. Come inside to explore a treasure trove of memories that are yours for the asking. On your way home, remember one thing: You're always welcome to return.
_Walking on the rock walls in the apple orchard was
always fun. Especially when a friend could join you and your dog. The
air was warm enough for the boys to be shoe and sweater free, yet cool
enough to enjoy ourselves. The freedom was the main pleasure.
They weren't far from the village with its little shops and
stores. But given the choice, the apple orchard won every time. They
could play hide-and-seek, leap frog and other games. There were always
apples to devour as they explored the paths with its trees holding their
arms out, just waiting to be climbed.
Then in the distance, the dinner bell rang. Time to go home already? What a great day
_A brisk and sunny day in autumn and who can resist a trip to "Apple Valley
Orchard" where a quaint old barn welcomes you. The apples are dressed
in reds from pink to burgandy, the Granny Smiths are in their
traditional green and pear apples in soft autumn brown. For some the
visit will include climbing a ladder for a few choice selections of
their own. While admiring the flowers, have a cup of just pressed cider.
Doesn't it taste like fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving? Take along a
basket of favorite apples. Enjoying all the orchard valley apples as
they are and making special treats with them like pies, dumplings,
breads and sauces, will make the whole experience a day filled with
delicious memories.
Paul Landry fondly remembers his autumn visits to Aunt Martha’s farm and tasting the secret ingredient of her apple pie. “She didn’t live very far from us but it always seemed like a long ride because we couldn’t wait to get there,” recalls Paul. “She had vegetable bins filled to overflowing, baskets of glorious flowers, big pumpkins waiting to be carved and plenty of green and red apples for making pies. But when she baked her apple pie, you had to be quick. They were the perfect blend of sweet and tart and she’d tempt you with warm slices. Who could resist?” Stopping by a country farm is a rite of the fall season for many people. Paul captures this charming scene as a cool autumn breeze blows in from the fields. Crimson and gold maple leaves, fragrant with the earthy aroma of the season, cascade gently down on the roof of her roadside stand. Published from the artist’s original oil painting.
Stopping by a country farm is a rite of the fall season for many people. New England artist Paul Landry lovingly captures the familiar scene. Crimson and gold maple leaves, fragrant with the earthy aroma of the season, drift gently down. The old barn is filled with late harvest abundance. Crisp apples, sweet and tart, will be eaten on the ride home or squirreled away for Thanksgiving pies and applesauce. Pots of bright chrysanthemums wait outside, looking for a home on your front stoop, along with the first couple of pumpkins that are ready for carving or eating. The Autumn Barn holds the last light of an Indian summer afternoon and advertises that secret ingredient in the very best apple pies: “Pick your own.”
When we were children, winter meant one thing: snowy fun. It meant days off from school spent building snowmen, sledding down the tallest, scariest hill in town or stockpiling snowballs for the battle of the year. As adults, we often lose sight of the magic of winter amidst thoughts of shoveling the driveway or frozen water pipes. We forget the simple pleasures of skating on a frozen pond, mitten-in-mitten with a loved one. Paul Landry has not forgotten and Bay Skaters, his newest Greenwich Workshop Fine Art Limited Edition, celebrates the very best of winter. This classic New England scene will bring good cheer and warm memories all year long.

"Christmas Carousel Pony" stirs up memories of years gone by. The image makes you think of an adult who has saved things over the years to remind him of what has been. Every part of the decor has its own story to tell. Some bring smiles and even laughter to our hearts, while others bring tears of joy to our eyes. The carousel pony, perhaps bought at "The Antique Shop," is handsomely attired in its holiday harness, topped off with a Christmas wreath. All of the greenery framing the frosty windows was selected from the woods. The red poinsettia is also known as the flaming star of Bethlehem. Another wreath, symbolizing eternity, rests at the pony's feet and two candlelit lamps reflect the spirit of hope and faith.

_This is time of the year when a very special
feeling fills our hearts and minds. The chill in the air that comes with
winter quickens our steps as much as the loving warmth that surrounds
us while we visit family and friends, sharing the spirit in our own way.
Christmas is coming very, very soon and a little someone is bringing her treasures to some of her favorite people.
In 1990, Paul first invited us to share a visit to The Flower Market. That exquisite image, radiant with color and warm with nostalgic ambiance, was embraced by collectors and sold out at once. Over the ensuing years, Paul has often brought us back to sample the market’s delights, ever changing with the seasons and the hours. Now he returns to the scene at twilight, bathing each richly colored bloom in an incandescent glow.... We don’t know any other artist who weds flowers with memories as tenderly as Paul does. Evening at the Flower Market evokes one’s fondest recollections of country living—its simple and most rewarding pleasures. At the same time, one reaps a bounty for the senses. Who doesn’t savor the dewy fragrance of these blooms or long to touch their satiny petals? It’s almost an embarrassment of riches to add that the piece complements virtually any décor...but there, we’ve gone and said it! Published from the artist’s original oil wash painting.
For generations, schooners and other craft have fished the banks off of New England, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. In Eventide, Paul has tried to capture the atmosphere of a harbor town rich with such a heritage and pride. And, in such a place, even the oldest and most ornery of these salts pause to take notice of such a majestic end to the working day.
Feathery clouds roll by above, sending down their breezes to blow off the water and cool the shore. Paul Landry invites you to join him on another tranquil excursion on (through) this beautiful summer’s day. The winds billow the boats’ sails and sending their passengers off to a day of adventure and fun on the water. Those who decide to stay ashore can fill their day fishing, picnicing or lazing in the sun. No matter how you choose to spend this most perfect of days, you’ll be able to return again and again as this piece brightens the mood of any room.
Spring, the season of rebirth, calls for celebrating the fragrance and the splash of delicate color¯all spilling forth from the greenhouse. The winter toil to jump start the flowers now seems worth every bit of the effort. Who won’t savor the dewy fragrance of these blooms or long to touch their satiny petals? It’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor. A Paul Landry painting will brighten a room by its very presence. Invite this Greenhouse into your home and watch the smiles of friends and family as they enjoy the view.
_The river is peaceful and quiet on this sunny
afternoon. The only sounds are those from the boats as they glide out to
sea and from the birds that stop to chat in the garden. The flowers are
sharing their wonderful colors and soft fragrances most generously. As
you stroll along, your eyes feast on one sweet blossom after another.
The garden gate is open to invite a closer view of the water and beyond.
Perhaps the garden belongs to a mariner. He knows in his heart that he
will be home again soon to enjoy it all. His family will tend his garden
lovingly while he's gone. Yes, the harbor is peaceful and quiet on this
sunny afternoon. What a special memory to treasure.

_As we travel away from today's highways, there are
lots of interesting houses to be seen. They come in all shapes, sizes
and colors. The rambler house was built as a main place for shelter,
food and lodging. As the house grew in number, it often became necessary
to add a room or two or more - a kitchen might be added onto the
existing structure if the original one had to be used for sleeping
quarters. Then, if necessary and practical, yet another room might be
added on for supplies and storage, canning from the garden, preserves,
winter vegetables and wood would be stored for the fireplace.
This was the home of a sea captain. When he was home, especially
during the long winter, it's where he taught his sons the pleasure of
creating ship models and sailboats for summer fun. He also taught them
the joy of sharing and developing their talent with all who came by. He
would tell his stories as he sat in the rocking chair with the odor of
cinnamon in the air - no doubt there was a pie baking in the big old
stove. It might have been his father's and his grandfather's home,
passed down from one generation to another. You can find similar homes
in many other places but this one is a "New England Classic."
Whether it’s a warm memory of his childhood in Nova Scotia or the simple charm of New England life, artist Paul Landry presents us with his enduring message of hope and home. Landry’s ability to make the peace and happiness of the holiday season last all year long is one of the reasons his winter scenes have long been a staple of the Greenwich Workshop Holiday Catalogue. Each Christmas, Paul has offered his collectors a timeless classic, and this year’s offering, New England Winter, is no exception. No matter where you spend the winter, the simple joys found in this charming snow scene are sure to make your season bright.
A gardener is drawn to a flower market like a kid to a candy store. Just the sight of flourishing blossoms can put a long winter in the past. The flower wagon gardener in this scene is getting ready to go out for a day of making our summer dreams come true. With its variety of beautiful colors, textures, shapes and fragrances, there is nothing like a bounty of flowers to lift one’s spirits. “The excitement of selecting and planning exactly what I want, and where I want to plant, makes me happy,” says artist Paul Landry, “and my green thumbs start itching to get started as soon as possible.” Landry’s own love of gardening is the artist’s inspiration for his colorful flower paintings. Radiant with hues and warm with nostalgic ambiance, Landry’s images tenderly wed flowers with our universal fond memories of the season. Rainbow Gardens is an open invitation to visit often and sample the market’s many delights. And if Aunt Martha is baking that day, you’ll enjoy an additional treat!
_In
this image, we are being treated with the gifts of an early spring
morning. The weather has warmed up enough for this boy and his dog to go
fishing for the first time this year. The boy is so intent on the
anticipation of his first catch that he doesn't even seem to hear the
horse and carriage traveling above. The couple in this carriage might
also be taking their first ride of the season, off for a pleasant trip
in the countryside's fresh air. Whether you choose to stay with the boy
or go with the couple for a ride through the covered bridge and beyond,
either way, this day will be filled with the enjoyment and delight that
only comes with spring.
The seascapes of artist Paul Landry have long been favorites among his collectors. In the tradition of his previous maritime fine art limited editions Eventide and A Schooner’s Return, this latest release, Sailing Home, honors all the seamen who sailed these magnificent schooners.“For generations, schooners and other craft have fished the banks off of New England, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia,” Landry remembers.“They could be out for weeks at a time, fishing until their vessels could hold no more, before racing back home from the banks. My Uncle Joe and his sons sailed these crafts in the 1930s and ’40s, and shared many sea stories with me. As much as they found fun and excitement on the water, one of their fondest memories was returning home afterward.”
As the Christmas season draws near, we find ourselves reflecting on who we are and how much our family, friends and freedom mean to us. Our hearts wish that the joy of the season could last all through the year. The winter scenes of Paul Landry have long been a welcome holiday staple in the Greenwich catalogue. This year, we are pleased to share with you one of his most romantic and enchanting seasonal images. The children sledding, bringing home the tree and a sleigh carrying presents home to the delight of any child, all provide a nostalgic reminder of the many sights and sounds of the holiday.

No matter where you spend the winter, the simple joys found in this charming snow scene are sure to make your season bright. In Southport, the only sounds you hear as you stroll down to the harbor on this perfect morning is the random clank of a halyard slapping against the mainmasts of one the sailboats in the winter’s frostbiting fleet.
_Spring has arrived and so has a wedding day. The
day is bright, beautiful and new - as new as the vows the couple has
pledged to each other. When they appear at the church doors, even the
sun shines its blessings on them. Along with the echoes of
congratulations, you can hear the old steeple bell sending its song of
praise and thanksgiving heavenward.
The surrey is ready and waiting to lead the procession of family,
friends and neighbors to the reception. A fine selection of food,
drink, music and dancing-along with family traditions-will be celebrated
by one and all. What a happy and love-filled time to share.
Yes, spring has its own special song and so do a bride and groom.
Beginning with a blessing, the song that fills their hearts is one of
love, joy, happiness, trust and hope.
When I travel through my hometown, and all the towns of New England, there are certain places that prompt a special memory. I remember that, as a paperboy in my youth, I got up very early to fold the papers, put them in my sack, and hop on my old bike. I made sure all my customers had something to read with their breakfasts. The streets were wonderfully wide in some places, but just about a car's width in others. I loved the hills... that went down. I also loved the the roads I took each day, and I even loved the change of seasons -- from the freezing winters when I braved the deep snow, to the spring with its bird songs and daffodils, to hot summers when I'd go swimming the minute I'd get back home, to the bright leaves lit the way every day. I always loved those memories, and I hope you see why I share them so freely.
